Keeping a short packing or decision list

A short list works when every line is a thing you can actually do or pack. “Shoes” is vague. “Walking shoes” and “dress shoes” are two lines. Open a note, write those lines, then paste them into the Random Picker when you only need the next item.

Save the list before the first pick. The picker keeps history for five results in that tab, but it does not keep your master list after you close the page. If you are packing for a weekend, the note is the source. The picker is the coin flip.

When an item is done, delete that line. Otherwise, the same sweater can win again and you will think you still need it. Equal chances apply to the lines that are still there, not to the list you meant last night.

Decision lists are the same shape: three restaurants, three chores, or yes / no / ask again after lunch. Keep the wording kind enough that you will follow the result. If you veto “ask again,” do not put it on the list.

If the box is empty, the picker says so next to the field. That is a reminder to paste the saved list, not a cue to invent options on the spot. A fair pick needs the list you already trusted.
